Bombs kill 5 GIs in Iraq

Two roadside bomb attacks have killed five U.S. soldiers in Iraq, according to the U.S. military. Four Task Force Lightning Soldiers were killed and two others were wounded Sunday when a bomb exploded near their patrol in Diyala Province, the military said. Another U.S. soldier was killed and two others were wounded Sunday by a roadside bomb blast in northwest Baghdad.

Iran fires back at sanction backers

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned that "those seeking to impose sanctions against Iran will suffer a greater damage themselves," according to Iran's state-run news agency. The Iranian leader's warning comes one day after the U.N. Security Council unanimously passed new sanctions on Iran because of its refusal to suspend its uranium-enrichment program.
